The Wimble is Wimbledon’s truly local (mostly online) newspaper

Join our local readers to receive the latest quality local journalism, reviews, interviews and features about everything Wimbledon. Subscribe to get full access to our newsletters and website.

Run from our small office in a local cowork on Queens Road (in the beautiful old Fire Station), The Wimble is for all those who want to discover more about their local area without annoying ads, “click bait” headlines or generic articles.

We believe in local communities and we believe in Wimbledon. Our goal is to work with and for the people and businesses of Wimbledon to inform and share all Wimbledon has to offer.

We will be running an annual print edition over the Summer during the tennis alongside our weekly online publications.

How it works

Everything we publish is freely available to everyone. Just subscribe and if you love it please share.

We may selective advertise, but only with relevant local partners that are relevant for you. Think back to those local newspapers of bygone years rather than the online pop-ups of today!

We are supported by the Wimbledon Quarter, a new neighbourhood centre in the heart of Wimbledon. The new Quarter is designed to be a meeting place in the heart of the town centre with spaces for all to shop, work, eat, train and more!

We are also partnering with the Mill Media Group who already run successful local media publications in Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield and Birmingham (we’re using their invaluable experience in how local journalism should work).

Write for the Wimble

We are looking for a local journalist to be our main writer. Please get in touch if you know someone who might be interested.

We also will be looking from contributions and pieces from local writers. Please get in touch if this sounds like you!

We’re not just looking for local writers so if you have some ideas that you’d like to be featured please also get in touch.

Get in touch

If you have a story that you think we should know about, please do get in touch by emailing editor@thewimble.com. If your story is sensitive, we will handle it with care. We are very used to dealing with confidential sources, and will never reveal the identity of contact unless they explicitly agree to their name appearing.

You can also write to us at: The Wimble, 4 Queens Road, Wimbledon, SW19.

If you have a complaint about something we have published, please follow our complaints procedure.
